On purchasing the Planning TRACCs, you will be required to make a configuration decision regarding how to manage your subscriptions in the TRACC Platform.
The subscription options available are as follows:
- Core Planning TRACCs plus the Planning Foundation TRACC
- Core Planning TRACCs as a stand alone
- Traditional integrated Planning TRACCs that include the foundation practices
Before expanding on these three options, it is important that you understand the below first.
What are the Core Planning TRACCs?
The Core Planning TRACCs were initiated based on client feedback to streamline the Supply Chain TRACCs. They are practice specific and only cover the Implementation Actions and Stop n Thinks that directly relate to the planning best practices of Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Sales and Operations Planning. There are no foundational implementation actions in these TRACCs. The purpose of the Core Planning TRACCs is to drive performance improvements or quick wins as fast as possible.
What is the Planning Foundations TRACC?
The Planning Foundations TRACC helps to establish a culture of continuous improvement and lays the foundation for the implementation of specific functional best practices in supply chain areas.
The implementation of this TRACC benefits supply chain organizations by:
- Establishing foundation best practices that will enable the successful implementation of core supply chain best practices
- Introducing Lean management practices to the supply chain functions to ensure alignment with similar approaches in operations
- Providing the base from which to implement and sustain a continuous improvement culture by challenging leadership, managing change and promoting effective teamwork in the supply chain organization
A key reason that this change was implemented was to avoid repeating the same assessment criteria and actions in each of the Planning TRACCs. Rather, they will be done once via the Planning Foundations TRACC (this is the name in V7.0 release).
What are the traditional integrated Planning TRACCs?
The traditional integrated Planning TRACCs are a combination of functional and foundational Implementation Actions and Stop n Thinks. These TRACCs are designed to drive long term sustainability together with performance.
Based on this information your organisation will need to determine which of the subscription options best suits your organisation’s needs.
Option 1: Core TRACCs and Planning Foundations TRACC
The core planning, sourcing and innovate TRACCs are functionally focused versions of our traditionally integrated TRACCs. In this option, Demand Planning TRACC (Core), Supply Planning TRACC (Core), Sales and Operations Planning TRACC (Integrated) and the Planning Foundations TRACC can be implemented together to reduce the complexity of your TRACC roll-out by applying a more staggered implementation approach. The Planning Foundations TRACC will enable you to build the Lean foundation that is required for the successful implementation of supply chain functional best practices.
Option 2: Core TRACCs
In cases where maturity in Lean foundations is high, the Planning Foundations TRACC may not be required. Here, option 2 for the Planning Best Practices consists of Demand Planning TRACC (Core), Supply Planning TRACC (Core) and Sales and Operations Planning TRACC (Integrated).
Option 3: Integrated TRACCs
Option 3 consists of Demand Planning TRACC (Integrated), Supply Planning TRACC (Integrated) and Sales and Operations Planning TRACC (Integrated). This option is ideal for organisations that prefer combined implementation structures and plans, i.e. the foundations and functional Stop ‘n Thinks and Implementation Actions will be automatically integrated and sequenced for the user.
