The implementation team is a cross-functional multi-disciplinary team, and should include members from managers down to administrators and operators in the implementation area. The implementation team is referred to as the Implementation Task Force (ITF) at the line or department level, and the Site Steering Committee (SSC) at the site level.
It is vitally important that each team includes stakeholders from all functions involved in implementing the TRACC, so that the assessment criteria can be answered in context of the reality of the workplace.
However, each team needs to comprise of highly motivated doers who will be willing to take action rather than just appearing as token representatives.
While a team’s composition will depend on the TRACCs being assessed at the line or department level, the key ITF members should be:
- The most senior line manager in the area (who can also act as chairperson)
- The internal facilitator
- The first-line managers in the area (e.g. the supervisors or team leaders)
- A representative from the training team
- One or two representatives from the work teams
- Best Practice Leaders involved in the TRACC implementation
- An objective member from another level, area or department
In a manufacturing environment, the key SSC members should be:
- The operations director
- Senior production managers from the implementation areas
- The quality and maintenance managers
- The human resources and training managers
- The internal change facilitator
- Work team or union representatives
It is vitally important for all implementation team members to be present during assessments, so that no aspect of the implementation area is overlooked. If only part of the team performs the assessment, it should be regarded as an ad-hoc or unofficial assessment – these can be marked as such in the system.
CCi Consultant
The CCI Consultant should always be included during the pilot phase of TRACC implementation at a site. They will be able to provide guidance on assessment best practices, and will be able to pass along knowledge to the facilitators and trainers to help other teams with their assessments.
